Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger has revealed that he has been given a blank cheque to strengthen his squad ahead of the summer transfer window.
The North London outfit finished as Premier League runners-up on Sunday afternoon after a 4-0 victory over relegated Aston Villa at The Emirates.
Arsenal’s second-place finish helped Wenger’s side to end the season on a positive note as the Gunners finished above north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
However, Arsene Wenger is still under pressure after the 2014 and 2015 FA Cup winners failed to mount a sustained Premier League title challenge.
But the 65-year-old has delivered some exciting news for Arsenal supporters after he revealed that majority owner Stan Kroenke has given the manager free rein in the summer transfer market.
“Stan Kroenke is completely behind myself and the board investing as much money as we want,” Wenger told BBC Sport.“It has to be in respect of a balanced budget, we have resources but the problem is finding players.“Everybody has money in England and they’re all after good players.“The good players aren’t legion, you have to be shrewd and be a little bit lucky.”
