'Champions League trophy belongs to Real Madrid'

Croatia International Luka Modric has declared that the Champions League trophy 'belongs' to Real Madrid and that his side fully deserved to win on Saturday night. 

Speaking after the game, Modric said: 

"It was difficult tonight, a lot of humidity, but we fight, we fight as a team, and we make it, we are very happy. 

"I think we deserved to win - This is the competition of Real Madrid." 

"This trophy belongs to Real Madrid. That's why Real Madrid is the best club in the world."

Real Madrid claimed their 11th Champions League, winning 5-3 on penalties after they and bitter rivals Atletico Madrid ended 120minutes 1-1.
