Everton urged to sack under-fire coach Roberto Martinez

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher believes Everton should sack Roberto Martinez immediately, if they are going to change their manager. 

Everton turned in another abject display as they were thumped 3-0 at Sunderland. 

The victory ensured survival for the black cats but only compounded the misery for under-fire Martinez. 

The Toffees  have now lost six of their last 10 games, winning just once, with fans calling on the board to end Martinez's three-year tenure. 

And Carragher claims it is a case of now or never for the Everton hierarchy - who are risking a toxic reaction for Sunday's clash with Norwich. 

"If Bill Kenwright and the new owner want a new manager they should get rid of Martinez tomorrow," he told Sky Sports. 

"Everton have a fanatical support home and away but I couldn't believe how many empty seats there were in the away end. 

"There are very few, if any, supporters wanting him to stay in the job and there could be a poisonous reaction to Martinez at the weekend."
