Roberto Martinez Sacked by Everton
Everton have confirmed the sacking of coach Roberto Martinez. Roberto Martinez have been under-pressure after a poor and disappointing 2015/2016 season.

Despite boasting an array of talented players - Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley among them - Everton sit 12th in the table with one game left of the campaign.

The Tofees have won just ten of their 37 matches and produced a woeful display on Wednesday night as they were thrashed t3-0 at Sunderland.

Fans were planning to ramp up protests against Martinez at Thursday's Player of the Year ceremony and at Goodison Park on Sunday for the final game of the season against Norwich.

But the club have now decided to put the 42-year-old out of his misery. Martinez had been in charge for almost three years having succeeded David Moyes in June 2013.

He led Everton to fifth place and their highest ever Premier League points tally in his debut campaign.

But they finished 11th last season as they struggled to balance their Europa League and Premier League commitments.

This season, Everton have reached the semi-finals of the League Cup and FA Cup but have failed to impress in the league and are facing their lowest-placed finish in 12 years.
