Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan booed by Turkey fans

Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan was booed by his own fans in Turkey's 3-0 defeat to Spain. 

Arda Turan had a disappointing first season in Catalunya, and couldn't even debut until January once the club's transfer ban had expired. 

After claiming he wanted to leave Atletico "in order to run less" the playmaker has struggled for playing time at Barca and looked out-of-shape as Turkey were thrashed by Spain. 

Having already apologised for a poor performance in Turkey's opening game, a defeat to Croatia, Turan was jeered by the large contingent of travelling fans. 

And boss Fatih Terim claimed that it had contributed to their defeat. 

"Of course it was not good to see Arda booed by our fans," he said. 

"No coach wants to see that situation. I think the expectations were very high but whatever happens, this shouldn’t occur. "Nobody deserves this. 

"The way they criticised Arda hurt our team. "As they booed him it made an impact, but I cannot find another reason for that.
