Borussia Dortmund respond to Manchester City's interest in signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

German outfit Borussia Dortmund have received no contact from Manchester City regarding a bid for star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, a club spokesman has confirmed. 

Aubameyang enjoyed a stunning 2015/16 season for the German club, scoring 36 goals in 42 appearances. 

The Gabon International is arguably now the most in-demand striker in Europe and widespread reports this week suggested he is close to a switch to Manchester City. 

But Dortmund spokesman, Sascha Fligge, insisted the the club will not comment on any rumours surrounding the striker's future. 

He told German news agency DPA: "We know nothing. "

"We don't know anything about the story and we will not comment on the countless summer rumours."
