England 2:1 Wales
Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge scored an injury-time winner as England fought back to beat Wales in Group B.

England made a fast start to the game and Raheem Sterling missed a glorious chance to put his side ahead inside 10 minutes, but diverted Kyle Walker's pass into the area over the bar from six yards.

Wales grew into the game as their opponents again went close via a Gary Cahill header. As the game approached half-time, however, Bale produced a moment of magic.

With Wayne Rooney giving away a free kick, the Wales star hit a swerving, dipping set-piece from 35 yards that sneaked inside Joe Hart's left-hand post, prompting criticism towards the goalkeeper.

Roy Hodgson brought on Vardy and Sturridge at half-time, replacing Harry Kane and Raheem Sterling, and Vardy took 10 minutes to level matters from close range with just his third touch.

As the Three Lions searched for a winner, Hodgson brought on Manchester United youngster Marcus Rashford for his competitive England debut for just over 15 minutes remaining.

England dominated possession for the majority and finally scored the goal their play deserved as Sturridge charged into the area from a Dele Alli pass to tuck inside Wayne Hennessey's near post.
