German outfit Borussia Dortmund activate release clause for Barcelona defender Marc Bartra

German outfit Borussia Dortmund have agreed to sign Barcelona centre-back Marc Bartra. 

Borussia Dortmund activated the eight million euros release clause in the 25-year-old's contract, which the La Liga champions cannot reject. 

Marc Bartra has been at the Camp Nou since the age of 12 and worked his way through the youth system to the first-team, making 26 appearances in all competitions last season. 

A statement from Barcelona's website said: 

"FC Barcelona wish Marc Bartra all the best in his new phase of his career as a player and he will be invited to say goodbye to the fans personally at the start of next season."
