Manchester United may have to pay a British record £78million for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba - four years after losing him for just £800,000.
Italian outfit Juventus want to start a bidding war for Pogba and believe the France star is worth 100m euros (£78million).
This is nearly 100 times the amount of compensation United received from Juventus when Pogba left on a Bosman in 2012, angry at his lack of first-team opportunities under Sir Alex Ferguson.
The red devils are prepared to bankroll the deal because Jose Mourinho wants to rebuild United's midfield around him.
