Manchester City agree £4m fee for Geronimo Rulli

Manchester City have agreed the signing of Argentina goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli. 

The 24-year-old, who is due to represent his country at the Olympics in Rio, will join from Deportivo Maldonado. 

Geronimo Rulli has been on loan at Real Sociedad for the past two seasons and the Spanish side hope to agree another loan with City for the forthcoming season. 

Rulli's former club Estudiantes will also receive a cut of the £4million fee. 

Pep Guardiola has been keen to bring in a new goalkeeper to increase competition for Joe Hart. 

Hart endured a disappointing European Championship with England this summer, conceding two soft goals against Wales and Iceland during his four appearances. 

Marc Andre Ter Stegen at Barcelona has been discussed but the Spanish club are refusing to sell for less than his £67million buyout clause.
