OFFICIAL: Liverpool sign Alex Manninger

Liverpool have confirmed the signing of veteran goalkeeper Alex Manninger on a free transfer. 

The 39-year-old, who used to play for Arsenal, joins the Reds after leaving German club Augsburg at the end of last season. 

It is understood he has penned a one-year contract at Anfield. 

Alex Manninger will provide back-up to Simon Mignolet and fellow new arrival Loris Karius, who signed from German club Mainz earlier this summer.
