Barcelona pulled out of running for Paul Pogba due to Juventus' huge £100m fee

Barcelona's director of football has revealed that Barcelona pulled out of the race for Paul Pogba due to his enormous asking price. 

Barcelona had been linked with Pogba over the last year but Ariedo Braida opted for Andre Gomes after being put off by the price tag, which saw him join Manchester United for £100million. 

Braida said: 'Barcelona pulled out of the race to sign Pogba for economic reasons.' 

'Some figures are upsetting. No one is worth that kind of money. When you get to a certain level, we are getting too detached from normal life. We are talking about an operation of €150million if we include wages.'
