Michael Owen states his prediction for Arsenal vs Liverpool clash

Michael Owen is backing Liverpool to hold Arsenal to a draw in a high-scoring season opener at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon. 

Arsenal are currently dealing with a defensive crisis after defensive duo Laurent Koscielny and Gabriel Paulista were both ruled out for the visit of Liverpool. 

Arsene Wenger has made just four signings in the summer transfer window thus far. 

Liverpool have been far busier in the current transfer market and Jurgen Klopp has added a staggering seven new players to his squad ahead of the 2016/17 Premier League season. 

And former Manchester United striker Owen is expecting a high-scoring game between the Premier League rivals at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon. 

“Arsenal are likely to field an understrength back four against Jurgen Klopp’s side and I expect to see goals at the Emirates,” Owen told BetVictor. 

“Liverpool don’t have the best of records at Arsenal in recent times but they have scored more goals than any other side in the Premier League this year and are a match for anyone on their day.” 

Arsenal and Liverpool played out a goalless draw at the Emirates Stadium in August last year.
