Schalke winger Leroy Sane flies in to complete £31m Manchester City move

Manchester City are close to completing the signing of Germany winger Leroy Sane, with the 20-year-old currently in England for his medical. 

Leroy Sane has been linked with an Etihad Stadium switch for most of the summer, with new City boss Pep Guardiola keen after following the Schalke youngster during his time in charge of Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich. 

Manchester City were handed a boost in their pursuit last week with reports that Sane had asked his club to sanction the move. 

And now it appears they have granted the player’s request, with Schalke confirming on Twitter on Monday morning that Sane did not travel with the rest of the team to their pre-season camp in Austria.
