Arsenal forced to wear AWAY kit by UEFA in Champions League match against Basel
Arsenal will be forced into wearing their away kit in front of their home fans tonight in the Champions League against Basel.

The Gunners will wear their yellow and grey change strip because Basel's home shirt has a mix of red, blue and black.

Basel's away kit is all white though, and because Arsenal have white sleeves, in addition to Basel not owning a third kit, UEFA have stepped in to make the ruling on the game.

It is not the first time Arsenal have worn an away strip at home, as during the 1998/99 season UEFA's kit policy dictated that any clash in first choice kits led to the home team changing shirts, which meant the Gunners lined up in their away kit against Lens at Highbury.

A similar policy existed before the inception of the Champions League, too, with Arsenal also hosting Benfica in 1991 whilst wearing their away kit.

Arsene Wenger will surely be more concerned about picking up their first victory of the campaign after a 1-1 draw at PSG in their opener.

With Basel also surprisingly drawing at home to Ludogorets, a win tonight will put Arsenal in a commanding position to qualify as group winners ahead of the double-header against the Bulgarian minnows.
