Arsenal send scouts to watch Sassoulo striker

Arsenal are keeping a close eye on Sassoulo striker Gregoire Defrel and have sent scouts to watch the in-form Serie A ace, according to The Daily Mail. 

Gregoire Defrel has scored four times in his first five games this season and has captured the eye with his marksmanship in front of goal and movement off the ball.

The Frenchman joined Sassuolo from fellow Italian side Cesena in 2015 and has filled the void left by now West Ham United striker Simone Zaza, who left the Serie A side to join Juventus. 

The 25-year-old has started the new campaign well and is a key reason that his modest club sit in the top half of Serie A after six matches. 

The report suggests that Arsenal have sent scouts to watch Defrel but could face Premier League competition for his signing, with Liverpool, Swansea and Crystal Palace all holding an interest in the centre forward also.
