Former Arsenal midfielder Charlie Nicholas has urged the gunners to consider appointing Ronald Koeman as Arsene Wenger’s successor.
Arsene Wenger has one year remaining on his contract after he led the North London outfit to a second-place finish last season.
Ronald Koeman swapped Southampton for Everton in the summer and the former Netherlands midfielder has transformed the Toffees’ fortunes after an unbeaten start to the Premier League season.
However,Nicholas believes Koeman would be a great choice to succeed Wenger at the Emirates Stadium should the Gunners boss leave at the end of the current season.
“There’s a shrewdness about Koeman – he doesn’t complicate himself. Once he’s made his decision it’s all in. I just love his whole approach,” Nicholas told Sky Sports.“I’ve said it before – if I was Arsenal and [Arsene] Wenger is ready to go, he would be the number one target for me.”
