Claudio Ranieri explains decision to sub Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez in Manchester United defeat

Leicester coach Claudio Ranieri admitted he had Tuesday night's Champions League clash with Porto on his mind when he hooked off Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez at half time on Saturday. 

The Foxes were trailing 4-0 to Manchester United at the break at Old Trafford and the Italian said after suffering a 4-1 defeat that he had accepted the game was gone. 

"At that time the match was gone and I prefer to reserve them for the next match on Tuesday against Porto. 

"I say this in the dressing room: 'ok we lost, it was a pity because the first 20 minutes was good, but now it's important to clean our minds because we now have the Champions League first match at home and It's important to show our best'."
