Diego Simeone's son Giovanni scores on debut for Genoa

Diego Simeone managed 32 goals in Italian football and his son showed he is a chip off the old block, netting on debut for Genoa. 

Giovanni Simeone collected the ball after a mistake in Pescara's midfield and slotted home to announce himself in Serie A. 

Coming from superb football stock, perhaps it is not surprising to see Giovanni Simeone make an impression. 

And yet the 21-year old's impact was felt on the scoreline rather than the typical full-blooded challenges of his revered father. 

Having signed for Genoa this summer from River Plate, Giovanni plays as a striker whereas his father was famous for snapping at the heels of opposition player in midfield. 

The Atletico Madrid manager will be a proud father after his son's effort earned a draw for his side against Pescara who found an equaliser late on.
