Manchester United defender faces another Month out with injury

Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Phil Jones will miss a month of action through injury after damaging his knee ligaments. 

The Manchester United manager revealed Jones has suffered lateral knee ligament damage in training and will now miss the next few weeks of matches. 

The 24-year-old has been dealt several cruel injury blows and only featured 16 times for club and country in the 2015/16 season. 

His last competitive appearance for United came on January 2 where he was replaced at half-time in Louis van Gaal’s side’s 2-1 victory against Swansea. 

Jones was linked with a move away from Old Trafford this summer, with West Brom and Stoke heavily linked.
