Michael Owen has admitted that he has been very impressed by Arsenal’s start to the season.
The gunners have bounced back in style after losing their opening game of the campaign 4-3 to Liverpool in the Premier League at The Emirates back in August.
Arsenal have since embarked on a four-game winning run in the Premier League and transferred their good form to Europe on Wednesday night with a convincing 2-0 win over Basel at The Emirates.
Theo Walcott scored both goals for the Gunners as Arsene Wenger’s men recorded their first Champions League win of the season following their 1-1 draw with PSG earlier in the month.
And former Liverpool striker Owen admits that he has been very impressed by what he has seen from the Gunners so far this term.
Owen said:
“It’s great for Arsenal. They’re in a real wave of form at the moment.“It’s one of those funny clubs from my point of view because Arsenal fans are really up and down."When it’s good, [they’re saying] ‘we can win the league, the fixtures look great’ – there’s a huge wave of optimism."But then they could get beaten by Burnley in the next game and it’s ‘Wenger out’.“But at the moment Arsenal are looking really, really strong. There are no problems at the minute so long may that continue.”
Arsenal are now preparing for their trip to Burnley in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
