Pep Guardiola matches Ancelotti record with Manchester City's perfect start
Pep Guardiola has got off to a fine start at Manchester City.

In addition to success in the Champions League, the Catalan side has had no trouble settling in to life in the Premier League despite suggestions he would find it tough.

Saturday's 3-1 victory over Swansea City means Guardiola's side have six wins from their first six Premier League games, with their form in Europe and the League Cup taking that tally up to 10 wins out of 10 in total.

And against Celtic in the Champions League on Wednesday, City could match the best-ever start to a season made by an English club.

They are just one win short of matching Tottenham's run of 11 straight victories at the beginning of the 1960-61 campaign.

Pep has now equalled the six games in a row Carlo Ancelotti won after taking charge at Chelsea in 2009-10 - the best start a new manager has made since the formation of the division in 1992.

Guardiola is not the only one setting personal records, with Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling also excelling in 2016-17 so far.

Aguero has scored 28 goals in his last 27 Premier League appearances for City - including 11 in six during the current campaign - while Sterling has now scored four goals and set up a further five in eight competitive appearances this term.
