UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: Paris Saint-Germain 1-1 Arsenal

Arsene Wenger sidestepped a sterner questioning of his team selection after his makeshift Arsenal line up salvaged a 1-1 draw against Paris Saint-Germain. 

Despite playing without a recognised striker, Alexis Sanchez equalised on the night after Edinson Cavani put the Parisians ahead after only 42 seconds played. 

Olivier Giroud and Marco Veratti were both sent off in the closing stages after an off-the-ball scuffle led to both men losing their cool and their place in the next round of matches. 

The biggest talking point of the night was Wenger’s rotation of his squad, which saw Petr Cech, Granit Xhaka and Olivier Giroud all start on the substitute’s bench.
