Ched Evans to demand £500,000 in lost earnings after being cleared of rape

Ched Evans’ lawyers are set to seek millions of pounds in lost earnings after the footballer was found not guilty of rape following a retrial. 

The Chesterfield striker, said he was ‘overwhelmed with relief’ after being cleared at Cardiff Crown Court of raping a woman at a Rhyl hotel in 2011. 

He served half of a five-year prison sentence after being found guilty in April 2012. 

Evans’ representatives are now likely to launch a £500,000 claim against his old club Sheffield United, as well as his former sports lawyers Brabners, which could run into millions.
