Arsenal sign former Chelsea defender in shock move

Arsenal have confirmed the signing of former Chelsea centre-back Zech Medley. 

Zech Medley left Chelsea in October and was handed a trial at the Emirates, where he impressed enough to be handed a scholarship deal. 

The 16-year-old’s represented England at youth level and becomes Arsenal’s 12th scholarship intake of the year. 

Medley had been with Chelsea since the age of eight but was surprisingly released from the Blues six weeks ago. 

Arsenal moved quickly to bring the tall defender to the Emirates on trial and he will now join the Gunners’ U18s after signing a deal with the club.
