Dimitri Payet has hinted he could return to French outfit Marseille as speculation over his West Ham future continues to rumble on. 

The Frenchman starred for West Ham last term with 12 goals in a stunning debut season in English football.

But with talk of a move away refusing to go away his form has tailed off somewhat this term. 

Manchester United and Real Madrid have been mooted as possible destinations but the man himself has hinted he could instead choose to return to France if he does indeed look to leave the London Stadium. 

“I am not closing the door to anything. Marseille have a new project which seems interesting,” he told SFR Sport. 

“Aside from that, we are obviously waiting to see the first few things that the new owners do, but Marseille knows how attached I am to the club. 

“When I talk about it, I say the best possible things, because that is what I think, so why not.”
