Injured Arsenal striker set to return to training in festive boost for boss Arsene Wenger

Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck will return to full training today, Arsene Wenger has confirmed. 

Welbeck has been plagued by injuries, having been out since May with a knee problem. 

The striker is unlikely to be rushed back into the team but him stepping up training with the first team means he is set to return quickly. 

Arsenal boss Wenger said: 

"He will return to training today which is very good news. 

"Welbeck will need some time. Today is the first time he joins in with team training so I'm very cautious because you can have setbacks after being out for so long."
