Mesut Ozil names surprising condition to sign new Arsenal contract

Mesut Ozil has asked Arsenal to sign Julian Draxler before he signs a new contract with Arsenal, according to reports from The Independent. 

Last night RMC Sport confirmed that Arsenal have indeed made a £30million bid for Draxler after the German has been summoned to find a new club in January. 

PSG and Juventus are the other two teams in run-in to sign Draxler in January. 

Following up on the story, The Independent have gone a step ahead and claimed that Mesut Ozil has personally intervened in Draxler’s negotiations and has asked Gunners to bring Draxler to Emirates. 

It is well documented how Ozil is stalling on his new deal with Arsenal as he is not convinced with Arsene Wenger’s transfer policies. 

Ozil’s reluctance saw the club break their trend and sign Granit Xhaka and Skhodran Mustafi earlier in the season. 

The Germany International is now pushing for Draxler’s arrival.
