Former Manchester United striker Michael Owen is tipping Arsenal’s clash with Crystal Palace on New Year’s Day to be a low-scoring affair at The Emirates.
Arsenal head into the game looking to make it back to back wins in the top flight after their 1-0 victory over West Brom at The Emirates on Boxing Day.
The gunners have dropped nine points behind Premier League leaders Chelsea after a stuttering few weeks in which they lost to both Everton and Manchester City in the top flight.
Palace, meanwhile, are getting used to life under new boss Sam Allardyce following Alan Pardew’s sacking this month.
However, former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Owen is tipping Sunday’s game to be a low-scoring affair in north London.
Writing in his column for BetVictor, Owen said:
“Sam Allardyce suggested it was a case of two points dropped at Vicarage Road after the Eagle’s 1-1 draw at Watford, in the former England manager’s first game in charge at Crystal Palace.“Things don’t get much easier for the Eagles with a trip to the Emirates, but I expect this Palace side to be more organised than in recent times and I don’t expect to see many goals in this London derby.”
