Everton forward Oumar Niasse arrested on suspicion of assault

Everton £13.5 million striker Oumar Niasse has been arrested on suspicion of assault. 

Police were called to a property in the early hours on Friday morning following a report of an assault. 

When they arrived they arrested the 26-year-old footballer and took him into custody for questioning. 

He was later bailed pending further enquiries. A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: 

"At 12.55am on Friday 13 May 2016, police in Salford were called to an address following a report of an assault. 

"Officers attended and a 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and was taken into police custody for questioning. 

"He has been bailed until 27 May 2016 pending further enquiries. 

The Senegalese forward arrived at Goodison park with a reputation for having pace, strength and a high work rate. 

But his time at the club has been hit by injury and he has played just 29 minutes of football since signing in the January transfer window
