Mahrez wins Leicester City's player of the year award

PFA Player of the year Riyad Mahrez has added another award to his personal trophy cabinet by landing the Foxes' player of the year award following the Premier League champions end-of-season awards bash. 

Mahrez have been outstanding this season, scoring 17 goals and laying on 11 assists to help his side defy odds of 5,000-1 and win the Premier League. 

"It feels good. It's good to be voted from from the fans," Mahrez told the club's official website. 

"I want to thank them all and I love all the Leicester fans because they are great supporters. I’m very happy. We just know we’ve done something crazy – something unbelievable. 

"The stadium is very amazing. The fans are close to us and I feel very good here to play. I just want to say thank you to all the fans – I hope they support us every year.”
