Manchester City coach Manuel Pellegrini wants to stay in the Premier League next season and would be interested in the job at Everton.
Pellegrini will leave City when the league season ends on Sunday and will be replaced at the Etihad Stadium by Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola.
The Chilean has endured a difficult final year at City and said his farewells in front of home supporters after a 2-2 draw with Arsenal.
But it is understood that Pellegrini is far from disillusioned with life in England and is very keen to stay.
He is aware of the speculation over Roberto Martinez's position at Everton and has told friends he would be very interested in taking over if the job became available.
Pellegrini sees Everton as a club with huge potential and believes he could have the same kind of success there that he enjoyed in Spain with Malaga and Villarreal.
