Manchester United set to appoint Jose Mourinho as manager

Manchester United are set to appoint former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho as manager in the coming days, according to widespread reports. 

Few hours after Manchester United beat Crystal Palace 2-1 in the FA Cup final, report have linked Jose Mourinho with the Old Trafford job this summer. 

United coach Louis van Gaal has consistently been linked with leaving the Red Devils at the end of this season, and it appears as if winning the FA Cup has none nothing to improve his fortunes. 

The Red devils have plans to announce the appointment of Mourinho next week, with senior figures keen to get the ex-Chelsea boss in as soon as possible ahead of the start of pre-season. 

Should Van Gaal depart Old Trafford, he will leave having won 54 of the 103 games he has taken charge, and will be remembered for winning the 2016 FA Cup.
