Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane to miss Euro 2016

Raphael Varane will miss this summer’s European Championships in france due to a thigh injury. 

The Real Madrid defender picked up the injury in training over the weekend as his club prepare for Saturday’s Champions League final against Atletico Madrid. 

Varane will miss the final and is expected not to be fit for up to four weeks due to the problem, which was diagnosed as a grade two injury to his left thigh. 

France national team coach Didier Deschamps has decided not to risk the Madrid man's recovery and Sevilla defender Adil Rami has been called up in his place.
