Arsenal lead race for striker to become second summer signing

Arsenal are leading the race to sign Juventus forward Alvaro Morata this summer, according to reports. 

The gunners have been heavily linked with a number of attacking players in recent weeks as Arsene Wenger looks to bolster his squad ahead of next season. 

Arsene Wenger has already moved quickly to bolster his midfield options with the signing of Granit Xhaka last month. 

Now, the Daily Mail is reporting that Arsenal lead Chelsea and Manchester United in the race to bring Morata to the Premier League. 

Real Madrid are thought to be considering activating their buy-back clause for Morata before selling him on at a profit this summer. 

Morata scored 12 goals and notched up nine assists in 47 games in all competitions for Juventus last season.
