Roberto Di Matteo confirmed as Aston Villa new manager

Former Chelsea coach Roberto Di Matteo has been confirmed as the new manager of Aston Villa. 

Roberto Di Matteo has been entrusted with the task of taking Villa back to the Premier League at the first attempt after their dismal relegation campaign. 

The Italian began his managerial career with MK Dons, before going on to manage West Brom, Chelsea and Schalke. 

Roberto Di Matteo guided Chelsea to an FA Cup and Champions League double in 2012. 

The 46-year-old has been out of a job since he resigned from his post as Schalke boss in May last year
