Manchester City have opened talks with Everton for the transfer of defender John Stones, according to reports.
City boss Pep Guardiola is known to be a big fan of Stones, and after a summer of being linked with the youngster, it appears as if the club have formalised their interest in him.
A deal has yet to be agreed, but reports claim City will pay roughly £50 million for the 22-year-old, who was a target for Chelsea last summer.
According to reports,John Stones had informed new Everton boss Ronald Koeman of his desire to leave Goodison Park, with a move to City his preferred destination.
And now that the two clubs are close to agreeing a deal, it appears as if the youngster will be confirmed as a City player in the coming weeks.
Guardiola has already brought four players to City this summer, having completed deals for Nolito, Ilkay Gundogan, Aaron Mooy and Oleksandr Zinchenko.
