Arsenal turn to Real Madrid midfielder as Riyad Mahrez alternative

Arsenal are weighing up an offer for Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez if they fail to sign Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez, according to reports in Spain. 

Gazzetto dello Sport are claiming that the Gunners could look to sign Rodriguez as Arsene Wenger attempts to bolster his attacking options at The Emirates. 

Arsenal have only signed four players in the summer transfer window so far despite the Gunners manager being linked with a host of names since the conclusion of the 2015/16 Premier League season. 

The gunners will begin the new Premier League season with a home clash against Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium on Monday night.
