Cristiano Ronaldo Reportedly Offers Madeira Financial Support After Wildfires

Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly offered financial aid to his place of birth, the Portuguese island of Madeira, after several people lost their lives and many more had to be evacuated due to wildfires spreading across the region.

He wrote on his Facebook page: "It is with an aching heart that I’m seeing what’s happening in Madeira and other parts of the country. My support goes out with a thank you to all those firefighters who are bravely risking their lives to save so many others. I am with you." 

Portugal have appealed to the European Union for help, with Spain and Italy sending aircraft to help fight the fires.
