Sunderland defender Lamine Kone hands in transfer request

Sunderland defender Lamine Kone has handed in a transfer request,according to reports in the British Media. 

The 27-year-old has been heavily linked with Everton in the past week with Ronald Koeman keen to bolster his defence. 

The Ivorian only joined Sunderland for £5m in January and played a key role in the club's fight for survival. 

But after the Black Cats failed to offer him a new deal, he has asked to leave the Stadium of Light.
