Insider reveals latest on Arsenal search for a new defender

Arsenal still have a good chance of signing Shkodran Mustafi from Valencia this summer, according to reports. 

The Germany international remains the north London club’s top defensive target this summer but that the two clubs are currently €5m apart in their valuation of the player. 

Arsene Wenger is thought to be on the lookout for an experienced defender this summer after Per Mertesacker was ruled out of action for a number of months due to a knee injury. 

The same report claims that Arsenal are trying to delay proceedings so that Valencia drop their price for the defender.
