Latest Arsenal injury update after Liverpool loss

Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Aaron Ramsey was forced off with a hamstring injury during Arsenal’s 4-3 loss to Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon. 

Ramsey pulled up in the second half and had to come off during Arsenal’s opening Premier League game of the season. 

The midfielder's substitution also followed Alex Iwobi’s withdrawal in the second half, with the Nigeria International also suffering from a muscular problem. 

Speaking in his post-match news conference after the game, Wenger confirmed that both Ramsey and Iwobi had suffered muscle injuries but the Gunners do not yet know how serious the problems are. 

Asked about Ramsey’s injury, Wenger replied: “[It is a] hamstring. I don’t know [how bad the injury is], I haven’t spoken to the medical people.” 

And asked about Iwobi, Wenger added: “It’s a thigh.”
