Arsene Wenger delivers latest Arsenal injury update ahead of cup clash

Arsene Wenger has revealed that Aaron Ramsey will miss Arsenal’s League Cup clash with Nottingham Forest due to injury and is also likely to sit out next weekend’s showdown with Chelsea. 

The Wales International has been out of action since suffering an injury during the opening game of the Premier League season against Liverpool back on 14 August. 

Ramsey is working hard on his fitness levels as he bids to try and get back to action as soon as possible.

However, Arsenal boss Wenger has revealed that Ramsey will not be ready for Tuesday night’s third-round game – and that he is likely also to miss the visit of Chelsea to The Emirates in the Premier League on Saturday evening. 

Speaking in an interview with Arsenal’s website, Wenger said: “He [Ramsey] is still out – I don’t think he will be ready for the weekend either.” 

Wenger also confirmed that defender Gabriel could be fit to face Nottingham Forest after the Brazilian’s recent spell on the sidelines.
