Sky Sport Italia have cut their ties with Paolo Di Canio after he displayed a fascist tattoo on air.
The former Sunderland coach has been a popular fixture within the Italian broadcaster's football coverage, providing typically candid opinions and tactical insight.
However, after exposing artwork on his right arm which spells out the word 'Dux' - a reference to former dictator Benito Mussolini - the ex-West Ham forward has been axed by Sky.
A statement by the TV company on Wednesday read: "We made a mistake. We apologise for those whose sensibilities were hurt."
Sky also confirmed they have 'suspended co-operation' with Di Canio.
