Paul Merson states his prediction for Arsenal vs Southampton clash

Sky Sports Pundit Paul Merson is tipping Arsenal to ease to a comfortable 2-0 victory over Southampton at The Emirates on Saturday afternoon. 

The gunners are preparing to welcome the Saints to their home ground as they look to make it back to back wins in the Premier League for the first time this season. 

Arsenal won their first game of the new campaign before the international break at Watford and have taken four points from a possible nine so far this term. 

New signings Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez will be hoping to make their Arsenal debuts in Saturday’s clash at The Emirates. 

And Merson is tipping the north London side to claim victory over the visitors in front of their home fans. 

Writing in his column for Sky Sports, Merson said: 

“I fancy Arsenal at home on Saturday and I say that because I’m going by what Southampton did at Old Trafford a few weeks ago. 

“They looked very weak up front and I don’t see them causing Arsenal any problems when they attack. It should be a clean sheet for Petr Cech.”
