Sterling wins Premier League Player of the Month award for August

Raheem Sterling has been named the Premier League’s Player of the Month for August. 

Sterling has won the award for the first time in his career following a combination of votes from the public, a panel of experts, and Premier League captains. 

The winger scooped the award ahead of Eden Hazard, Antonio Valencia and Curtis Davies following his impressive start to the season for City. 

Manchester City have won all three of their Premier League games so far, while Sterling has scored two goals and registered one assist.
