Man United's Marcus Rashford speaks out on team-mate's critics

Rashford has spoken out on critics of teammate Wayne Rooney, insisting Rooney will recover over time.

“Criticism about Wayne is unfair, definitely, he has won everything for this club,” Rashford told The Sun. 

“He is about to beat the club record for goals, he’s got the England appearance record and goals record, he’s got a lot of achievements and a lot of things to be proud of. 

“So I just think — give him time and all this will go away. “People just need to relax. You have to remember he started his career when he was very, very young. I think he was 16 or so. 

“You can’t heap all that pressure and responsibility on one player, either. “I don’t doubt his talent because when he plays he makes a difference to the team and his class is permanent.”
