There have been few positives at Real Madrid in the last few weeks following four consecutive draws in all competitions, but Luka Modric appears to be in good spirits despite his latest setback.
The 31-year-old was ruled out of Madrid's latest stalemate, a 1-1 Spanish top flight draw against Eibar at the Bernabeu on Sunday, having picked up a cartilage injury in his left knee midweek.
But the Croatia international took to Instagram to show his road to recovery.
Modric posted a picture showing him on a sofa with a bottle of water, two remote controls and a Game Ready cold therapy system to help with his knee that was wrapped in bandages following an operation.
With a double thumbs up, Modric said on the social media website:
"The operation went well today, everything is going according to plan."Thanks to the doctors Leyes and Aramberriu, as well as the medical staff and the club Real Madrid for their good care."The rehabilitation team will try their best to get me back on the field as quickly as possible."Thanks to my teammates (and head up!) and all those who have sent me messages of support. Hala Madrid and forza Croatia."
