Diego Costa suspended for Chelsea’s clash with Bournemouth

Chelsea striker Diego Costa will miss the blue’s clash with Bournemouth on Boxing Day through suspension after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season against Crystal Palace. 

Diego Costa, who had scored 12 goals in 16 games before Saturday’s clash with Palace, was given a yellow card for kicking out at Joe Ledley in the first half. 

The caution now means that Antonio Conte will be without his first-choice striker for the fixture against Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge. 

Michy Batshuayi, who is yet to start a game in the Premier League since his summer move from Marseille, is expected to deputise for Costa in Chelsea’s attack.
