Firmino has £82million Liverpool release clause but Arsenal cannot sign him

Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino has a £82.6 million release clause in his contract which prevents him from joining Arsenal, according to reports. 

Le Soir have obtained a copy of the Brazilian’s contract from Football Leaks and have revealed the bizarre stipulation in the 25-year-old’s deal with Jurgen Klopp’s side. 

It’s claimed that Firmino would be allowed to leave Anfield if a £82.6m offer is received – but he is unable to join the Gunners, even if they submit a bid of ‘any higher amount’. 

In July 2013, Arsenal tabled an offer of £40m plus £1 for Luiz Suarez, believing that they had done enough to activate a clause in the Uruguayan’s contact with Liverpool. 

Firmino has been one of Klopp’s stars in Liverpool’s attack this season, scoring six goals and registering three assists in 15 appearances.
